Why should residents of Cambridge vote for you?
Residents should vote for me because I care deeply about this city, the people who call it home, and the future we are building together.
Ever since grade school, I have been interested in politics and public service. I always thought that "one day" this would be a step I would take, and over the years I have continued learning about how our communities grow and change. Since moving to the region in 2015, I have watched Waterloo Region evolve and have been part of those changes, especially since making Cambridge my home in 2021.
I believe our region needs leaders who can balance growth with affordability, who are willing to ask difficult questions, and who can make decisions that are both efficient and empathetic. We are a world-class community, and I want to help ensure the rest of the world sees what we already know.
Having lived in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, I bring a unique perspective to regional council. Waterloo Region is made up of diverse communities, and when I lived in Kitchener and Waterloo, I didn't fully understand what made Cambridge unique. I believe that experience helps me understand both the importance of Cambridge's identity and the need for stronger representation at the regional table.
Cambridge has so much to offer - our history, our neighbourhoods, our businesses, and most importantly, our people. I want to be a strong voice for Cambridge and make sure our city's needs are understood when regional decisions are being made.
Throughout my professional life, I have worked in customer service, learning and development, communications, and people management. Those experiences have taught me that effective leadership starts with listening. I have spent my career understanding people's needs, finding solutions, and helping create better experiences for those around me.
More than anything, I believe in the power of community. I love bringing people together to celebrate, share, and connect. I have experienced challenges in life, and I consider myself fortunate to have had people and resources that supported me through those moments. I want every resident to have access to that same sense of support and belonging. Residents deserve representatives who listen, communicate openly, and are accountable for the decisions they make. We will never agree on every issue in Cambridge, but we can create a community where people feel respected, heard, and valued.
That is the kind of leadership I want to bring to regional council: leadership that asks challenging questions, finds practical solutions, and helps build a Cambridge where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
